Earlier this month, our little monkey turned 18 months old! To celebrate, I took him to one of his new favorite spots, the zoo, with some friends (see previous zoo post). He welcomed this milestone with four eye (?) teeth making their way through his gums. This came with many gripey afternoons, time-outs and a wake-up schedule of 6:30 AM on the dot for several weeks. We've got our finger's crossed that the worst is over.
"What? You'd put me in time out?"
He is also in love with Toy Story. I put on The Incredibles one day, and I guess it didn't interest him that much.
But when his teeth aren't bothering him, he is extremely happy. He loves all of the new toys at Honey's house, especially the puzzles. He has mastered a few Fisher Price puzzles and he loves to do them over and over. Speaking of toys, our bath letters have really come in handy. He can tell me what the N, M, B, D, T and Z say! He is already a big smarty pants!
He has become a big fan of the camera. He will even say, "cheese!" for me. Other tricks include making a trunk out of his arm, pretending to be an elephant and jumping.
After months of begging him to say, "mama" in order to get something he needs, he has somewhat cooperated. The whole scenario usually goes like this:Bobby: whine whine whine whine grump whine
Me: What do you need?
Bobby: points to refrigerator
Me: Do you want juice?
Bobby: big smile "Juice!"
Me: Say "Juice, please, mama!"
Bobby: signs please
Me: Say mama!
Bobby: MA!
This growing boy weighed in at 23 lb, 13 oz and measured 33 inches!
We are excited to fill our summer with trips to the pool and visits with friends! Check back for our summer adventures!
